Community spirit is alive! Even though there was a winter storm brewing, Santa Claus Day was a huge success. Santa arrived at 2 p.m. as did the Clarke’s team of beautiful horses pulling the hay rack that would give rides during the afternoon. There were three new babies, Copper, Piper and Addison, there to have pictures with Santa, along with about 10 school-age children. They enjoyed the rather cool by fun day.
Then it was over to the community hall where 70 hungry people gathered to feast on a delicious turkey and ham supper. Fourteen ticket draws and several free door prize draws made for a lot of happy people and the main raffle was drawn (these five winners will be listed in the classifieds.)
Back to the bank building for a turkey and ham Bingo and a chance to win the loonie pot. Fifteen players and no takers on the pot. There will be no supper or bingo in January for obvious reasons. Watch the paper for an update on February.

At the same time Tasha and Aaron were in Vegas for a few days to celebrate Tasha’s birthday. Grandma Evelyn stayed at Tasha and Aaron’s to look after the boys.

The Gadsby District Hobby Club will be having their meeting and election of officers on Dec. 14, Monday night 7 p.m. Due to circumstances they had postponed this meeting from the scheduled November date.
Westwoods Santa Day was also a success with over 30 kids who enjoyed a visit with Santa, candy bags, crafts and door prizes.
