Ryan Dahmer all-star skip at national college curling playoffs

Ryan Dahmer and his curling team from the Red Deer College Kings curled in the national college curling playoffs in London, Ont.

HALKIRK HERALD -- About 50 people attended the East Central Alberta Catholic School Board meeting held in Stettler to explain the upcoming closure of the Halkirk school in June.

Special birthday greetings go out to Anna Taylor, who celebrated her 98th birthday on Wednesday, March 23. Nieces Jane (Taylor) Olsen from Olds and Dianne (Taylor) and her husband Ron French from Calgary enjoyed sharing dinner and birthday cake with her at Heart Haven Lodge in Stettler. Several close friends also stopped by to extend birthday greetings.

Sympathy is extended to the Heier family on the passing of their son and brother, Siegfried Heier, on March 13th. Siegfried (Siggy) and his wife and family made their home in Sweden.

Terry and Peggy Vockeroth just returned from 10 days in sunny Fairbanks. With the warm weather they were able to ice fishing, ski, skate,sled and attend the ice sculpture festival and swim with granddaughters Annika and Lyra a day their mom and dad Scott and Emily.

Jan and Rose Koenraadt were among the family and friends in attendance to wish Roses mom Enida Stewart a happy 80th birthday on Saturday.
