Thanks to the Michie Family for the update on their mother/grandmother Marie Michie. Marie had the misfortune of breaking her leg recently and is presently in the Strathmore hospital. She has been making her home at the Wheatland Lodge in Strathmore for the past two years. Our best wishes go out to you, Marie, and hope you will be back at the lodge soon.

A reminder that the Morrin United Church Women would like to have all the co-op till tapes in before the end of June. Sunday, June 20 is the last service for the summer so that would be a good day to bring them in. There will be a potluck dinner following the church service that day also. At 2 p.m, at the Rumsey cemetery, family members of the late Don Primrose Sr. will be gathering for an internment of ashes for Don.

Monday, June 21, is the next birthday party at St, Mary’s Lodge in Trochu.

Friday evening, June 11, in the Rumsey community hall the Morrin grade 12 high school graduation banquet was held. The grads and guests all looked lovely in their ‘Sunday meeting’ dress code. . Students in the grad class this year are ; Tara Combest, Colby Couturier, Melissa DeMille, Brittany Galagher, Cody Goddard, Cayle Griffith, Thomas Hodge, Dylan Jackson, Jared Kowlachuk, Kaitlyn Meller, Thomas Schow, and Carinna Wiley. After dinner fun and tomfoolery continued in the hall before everyone travelled to the Morrin School gym for more speeches and introductions of each grad. The grand march and first dance followed before all the grads and their guests moved to the Morrin arena for their safe grad party.

We were very privileged to be on the guest list of the grad celebrations as Cody is our grandson and the last of our seven grandchildren to graduate from grade 12. He plans to attend SAIT in the fall taking mechanical engineering. Tara, Cayle Colby, and Cody were the grads from the Rumsey area. However, this graduating class was a very tight knit group as was depicted in the presentations and honours.

We wish all the grads well as they continue their studies in the next few years.
