The Big Valley Historical Society has begun recruiting Train Day volunteers for the summer tourist season.

About 18,000 + tourists are anticipated to be visiting our village via the Alberta Prairie Steam Tours this summer on 65 to 70 train visits.

Each time a train arrives, a minimum of seven volunteers are needed for the various venues throughout Big Valley. Being a train day volunteer involves two to three hours of your time, once a month (or more if you wish). No special knowledge or skills are required (except for the “people mover” driver). Here is a chance to donate your most precious possession (time) to help show off our proud little community to visitors from all over the world.

For further information please contact Florence Johnston (train day volunteer coordinator) at 403-876-2593.
