Registration for minor ball still open

Gadsby/Westwoods

We must be getting used to living with frigid temperatures.

There was a good turnout for minor ball registration which was held on March 2 at the Gadsby bank building. Leasyl Carey also would like to let all those who didn’t sign up yet know that there is still time. Anyone interested please phone Leasyl at 403-574-2171 or Richelle at 403-741-9141.

Dewey and Joanne Hoopfer are back from two gloriously warm weeks in Cuba. A great break to take this year.

Joanne confirmed there is “ladies’ night out” in Gadsby on April 16 at the Gadsby Community Hall.

And there will be an advanced ticket sale day at the hall March 23.

And the final dine and dance will be held on March 19 at Westwoods Agriplex.

As the ball diamonds and concession building are completed, The Gadsby Ball Association are pleased to report this is the last fund raiser for the project. They are still accepting donations for the silent auction and hoping to sell more tickets to the steak-and-shrimp dinner. Again, phone Leasyl at 403-574-2171.

Denise and Shane Jacobson hosted a combined birthday party for Rylee (12) and Keagan (5) on Tuesday evening, March 1. They enjoyed birthday cake, presents and the family gathering.

And Trey and Reece Nichols are turning 12 on March 7. Happy birthday.

Diane Baird has returned from a trip to Vegas with friends. While there, she stayed with a cousin and had an enjoyable time.

The family of Manuel Heer wish to advise friends and family that a grave side memorial service will be held for Manuel in the spring, after the snow has gone. Announcements will be made at that time.
