RUMSEY RECORD -- Congratulations to Devon and Andrea Sengaus on the arrival of a wonderful baby boy this past Saturday. Mom and babe are doing well. Mr. Elias Robert Sengaus has joined the family at a healthy 8 lbs 12 oz to the delight of Donna and Dave Sengaus and Denise and Yvonne Hoppins of Huxley. Best wishes to everyone.

Claire Krywcun and Baylee Nelson are putting together a ladies' night out on Nov. 26 at the Rumsey Community Hall. They are looking for vendors who may be interested in buying a table to display and sell their home crafts, Christmas items and home party products. This will be on a first-come first-serve basis as they would like to get the tables filled without duplication of product. Please give Claire a call at 403-321-0080 or Baylee at 403-443-8384.

The Red Deer River Garden show wrapped up a couple of weeks ago with good results. There were six juniors that put 43 entries into the show and 22 adults who put in 449 entries into the show, which brought the entries up slightly from last year. It was really rewarding to see new people taking an interest in the show with their entries, so hopefully that interest will continue to grow (no pun intended). There were many prizes for the top entries in the show and the garden show would like to thank all the donors for their generosity again this year. I will try to list the top awards because there are so many. Most entries in the show was won by Lorne McArthur, the Junior garden plot was won by Haley Little, Junior aggregate first prize was won by Ashley McNaughton and second went to Haylee Little. Seniors aggregate first prize was won by Lorne McArthur and second was won by Ken Jensen. Gifts from the garden category was won by Jill Brodie and second by Mary Newton, this award was donated by Trident. The Rumsey Library Calendar Photo contest was a big hit with all the strollers who wandered through and picked their favorites from the photos entered this year. I would like to thank Meah and Cadynce Richmond, Linda Helmer and Jill Brodie for entering their photos. I would love to encourage more people to enter pictures next year as I know we have many talented photographers in our community and with the technology that the new phones offer, you sure don't need to be toting around a big old camera anymore to get that perfect shot. I will be putting together the 2017 calendar soon and hope to have it available in November for your Christmas purchases.

Here's a little something for your student in the house.

Teacher: If I gave you two cats and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?

Johnny: Seven.

Teacher: No, listen carefully... If I gave you two cats, and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?

Johnny: Seven.

Teacher: Let me put it to you differently. If I gave you two apples, and another two apples and another two, how many would you have?

Johnny: Six.

Teacher: Good. Now if I gave you two cats, and another two cats and another two, how many would you have?

Johnny: Seven!

Teacher: Johnny, where in the heck do you get seven from?!

Johnny: Because I've already got a freaking cat!

Have a great week.
