Prepare to open rodeo season in Big Valley

Rodeo season is about to begin. Come on out to the Big Valley Agriplex on Friday, April 9 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, April 10 at 6 p.m. for the Big Valley Bust-Out Rodeo. There is a dance Saturday night following the rodeo.

News from the Rusty Spurs: Congratulations go out to Mackenzie Sorensen for her placing at district presentations in Stettler on March 10. Mackenzie won her division (junior) and will continue on to the regional level. Aislinn Reule will be advancing in her division (intermediate) for her presentation as well. Regionals are being held in Coronation.

In the district public speaking event held March 14, Rachel Valentine placed third in a tough group of seniors. Aaryn Lynham, an intermediate, placed third in her division. Congratulations to you all.

There were 12 players out for Crib at the Big Valley Inn on March 14, making up two tables of six. At table one, 1st was Margaret Levesque, 2nd Len Shaw, and 3rd Arlyne Hingst with the booby going to Carolyn Pound. At Table two, 1st was Viola Moyer, 2nd Allan Neitz, and 3rd Joanne Murphy with the booby going to Roy Kennedy.

The Big Valley Drop-in Centre will be hosting a pancake supper on March 22 at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Spring has sprung and the Big Valley Beautification and Cultural Society will be holding a meeting at the railway station on Monday, March 29 at 7 p.m. Why not join? Membership gives you the right to vote. Bring your ideas, coffee will be on. Members, bring along a friend.
