Prepare for mixed bonspiel on Jan. 23-30 - Donalda Diary

The Donalda Arena is open from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Friday to people who would like to take their dog out for a walk inside. It’s a great way to have your pet enjoy a social time out while getting exercise. If you know your dog is more aggressive or growly, then please make sure you put a muzzle on your pet before entering the building. There is a small user fee and Maria is the person to call to register for the indoor doggy do at 403-883-2188 or at 403- 883-2521. Remember to bring a plastic bag with you to help keep the facility clean.

The Donalda Curling Club is hosting a combined men and ladies’ bonspiel Jan. 23 - 30. Entry fee includes the banquet that Friday night; plus, there will be live entertainment featuring the local musical group Domino. Everyone is welcome and for more information you can talk to Paul at 403-883-2168, or Mike at 403-883-2469.

Every Monday, at the Donalda Art Gallery, a quilting group meet and they have room for more people to join them. They start at 9:30 a.m. and Susan would love to tell you more about that if you call her at 403-883-2290. The other quilting group, the Quilting for Charities, meet every Monday too, and they gather at 10:00 a.m. in the Sharon Lutheran Church in Donalda.

The quilts they make are donated and are enjoyed by families in need who may be in the area or in another country. Susan has information on this group, too and would be happy to help you get in touch with the folks who organize that activity.

The Village of Donalda is offering a municipal utility prepayment discount again. Please contact the village office to find out how much you can benefit from this facility.

Lastly, the Donalda Library needs your help. Are there ways the library can serve you better? Are there things they offer now that you really like or appreciate? Are there things they don’t offer at all and you wish they would?

Stop by and talk to the staff, or look them up on the website, donaldalibrary.prl.ab.ca where you will find a satisfaction survey/questionnaire you can fill out right from home.

This site also gives you a direct link to the Parkland Regional Library website and the entire collections catalog.
