The Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at the Endiang Hall on March 4 was very well attended.

More than 75 people enjoyed the ham, pancakes and toppings served up by the Church at Endiang with assistance from the Byemoor School students, staff and parents.

The supper's $1460 proceeds were donated to the Byemoor School for projects. Thanks to all who supported this worthy event.

Join the Stettler RCMP and the County of Stettler Protective Services for “Coffee and Conversation with a Cop” on Thursday, March 20 at the Byemoor Community Hall from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. A light supper will be served. This is an opportunity for casual conversation with local law authorities. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Congratulations to the Endmoor / Big Valley Bandits U11 hockey team on being named the U11 Tier 4 Orange Champions in the Central Alberta Hockey League. They defeated the Kneehill Chiefs U11 team in Big Valley on Sunday, March 9 to claim the title — way to go, little guys and gals.

The curling team of Justin Jones, Tyler Stulberg, Jim Krautt and Eugene Nixon were in Calgary from March 6 – 9 competing in the Club Champions Provincial Qualifiers. The team plays out of the Rumsey Curling Club and won the Rumsey Super League to advance to the championship qualifiers. They had a great start, winning their first three games, but in the end didn’t advance.

Still, it was a tremendous experience for the team to curl at that level in Calgary’s largest curling rink, the Acadia Recreation Complex, with ten sheets of ice.

The team had a large fan base to cheer them on with many local family members attending, as well as family and friends from the Calgary area.

Endmoor Floor Curling Club is hosting the annual Ken Schultz Memorial Funspiel on Monday, March 17 at the Endiang Community Hall.

The 12-team bonspiel is a fun day, mixing players from the various communities on each team.

Mark your calendars for the Family Bingo night on Tuesday, April 1 at the Byemoor Community Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and Bingo starts at 7 p.m.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day wishes to all on March 17. It’s been said there are only two kinds of people — those who are Irish and those who wish they were. It’s a day a lot of people have fun with.

Irish Humour for the Day —
“What do ghosts drink on St. Patrick’s Day?  BOOs.”
“What do you call an Irish spider?  Paddy Long Legs.”
“What does Ireland have more of than any other country?  Irishmen.”
“Leprechauns are so old they can remember when rainbows were in black and white.”
