Not good weather for spring break

Gadsby/Westwoods

Who cancelled spring? The county snowplows have had a hard time keeping up with the roads. And the wind has blown hard from the east for ten straight days.

The school children have this week off for spring break; not good timing.

The “Catch a Rising Star” dance competition in Stettler was held this weekend in the PAC Center.

Sadie Diegel’s duo received one gold and two silvers and “most promising duo” while Sophie Diegel and her group received two golds and two silvers and a recognition as “the most promising group”.

Congratulations to all who participated.

Birthday greetings to Joe Hansel.

Gordon and Shirley Reynolds were among friends and family who dropped in to help Joe celebrate.

Joyce Hansel was able to get to Stettler Thursday to attend the volunteer luncheon. Paulette Heer managed to get through the snow to have dinner with her mother, Iona Berg at Heart Haven Lodge.

Larry Tuck has been kept busy pulling vehicles out of the snow banks near his home this week. Seven in one day!

Percy Heer’s cousins Dervil and Sharon Heer were lucky on Friday as they followed the plow through to the Heer farm for dinner. Dervil is from Cochrane and Sharon from Stettler. Dervil also visited Iona Berg in Heart Haven later that day.

Joanne Hoopfer wants to remind ladies, there are still a few “Ladies Night Out” tickets available. If you are interested and want to have a fun evening, please call Joanne at 403 574 2340.
