The Summer Reading program has officially started and we are thrilled! The program runs until Aug. 25, Monday to Friday with daily activities and other fun stuff planned. Have we mentioned that the program is completely free … because it is and will be all summer!

We are still making sweet tie-dye shirts! On Thursday, July 6 with the Zambonis (13-16 years old). Pre-registration is required as we are providing the t-shirts. This has the potential to get messy so we suggest not wearing nice clothes that day!

This Friday, July 7 at 2-4 p.m. marks our first Friday movie for the summer. We will be showing Night at the Museum and having some delicious popcorn! All our Friday movies are all-ages friendly.

Speaking of museums, join us on Wednesday, July 12 at 2:30 p.m. for a virtual visit of the Royal Tyrell Museum! This is an all-ages friendly but there is very limited space so call the library to register for this event as you don’t want to miss out.

On Thursday, July 13 at 3:30 p.m. we are showing Jurassic Park and having pizza for the teens (13+) at the library. This requires pre-registration so everyone gets a slice!

Kids Cooking Club (ages 6+) is happening on Saturday July 15 at 2-4 p.m. Classic Chocolate Chip cookies are on the menu so please pre-register so the library staff don’t indulge in too many chocolate chips.

Peter Puffin’s Whale Tales is also returning this summer so mark your calendars for Wednesday, July 19 at 2 p.m. Join us for some Canada-themed fun and that is appropriate for all ages. Pre-registration is not required for this so please bring your family and friends!

If you want more information about more Summer Reading Program events or register for the events listed, please call 403-742-2292.

As always, for the most updated information please check spl.prl.ab.ca or our Facebook page for news of any other neat events and activities!
