New residents welcomed to Endiang

Congratulations to Crystal Schellenberg and Will Oickle, who were married in a beautiful fall wedding in Stettler on Oct. 9. Crystal is the daughter of Rod and Lynnette Schellenberg. Several of the Schellenberg relatives were there from Manitoba as were Will’s family from Nova Scotia. The newlyweds will be residing in Halkirk. We wish them all the best in their married life.

We welcome the hamlet of Endiang’s newest residents to the community. Garnett and Maryann McLearn moved into the home formerly known as the Alec and Anne Smith place. Garnett is employed in Hanna.

The SLW Ag. Society will be renting out the kitchen space at the arena to any individual or group who want to operate a booth there. It is available immediately and until April. For more information contact Denny Dettmer at 403-579-2529.

Ken and Eleanor Schultz along with John and Jacky Chop attended the memorial service for Kathleen (nee Richardson) Robinson at Bergen Oct. 9. She was 86 and the last surviving member of the Richardson pioneer family.

Dwayne and Shelly Schellenberg’s wee son Beau came home from the Red Deer hospital on Tuesday, a little playmate for big brothers Cole and Dayne.

The local floor curlers were off to Botha for the first tournament of the season on Thursday. Players included: Irene Brooker, Cliff Donald, Bob and Eileen Green, Jack Groat, Della Jones and Ken and Eleanor Schultz.

Local folks attending the premier’s dinner in Red Deer on Thursday included Les and Rosemary Stulberg, Peggy Stewart and Evelyn Walker. The County of Stettler councillors attending were honoured to be seated with members of the premier’s family.

Jack Hayden returned on the weekend from Japan, where he was on a government trade mission.

Get well wishes go out to Debbie Tateson, Alvina Buchwitz, Ruby Hausher and Bernice Zeimer who are all recuperating in the Hanna hospital.

Brenda Zeimer of Vancouver is a guest of Bill and Linda Smith and is also visiting her mother Bernice Zeimer and helping with her move to the Lodge in Hanna.

Members of the Sorensen families attended the wedding of Leanne Bateman and Kent Graham in Stettler on Saturday. Leanne is the granddaughter of John and Ella (nee Sorensen) Kisser.

Remember the Byemoor roast beef supper is coming up Oct. 23 from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Byemoor Hall.

Don’t forget Read and Rhyme, a program sponsored by the Stettler Library for those five years and younger will be coming to the Endmoor Drop-in Centre Oct. 25 at 10:30 a.m. and will continue the second Monday of each month thereafter.

Keep in mind the benefit dance and auction for Roan Heck and family at the Byemoor hall Oct. 29 starting at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are available in advance only and may be obtained from Denny 403-579-2529 or Joan 403-579-2115.

Also coming up is the benefit dine and dance and auction for Bruce Woelk at the Endiang hall Nov. 6. Tickets are available at Our Home Kitchen in Endiang and the Byemoor Store.
