CHRIST-KING CHRONICLE

Christ King School teams have a new logo. The winning vote went to a strong, competitive looking ram’s head. Charger wear is available in a wide variety of colours, styles and sizes downtown at i.d. apparel.

Christ King Chargers basketball season is off to great start. Grade 5-7 students practice on Mondays after school to increase their skills and teamwork ability. Congratulations on winning your first game. Go, Chargers!

Last Wednesday afternoon saw our first ever Dance Troupe Showcase. Students in grades 3 – 9 formed dance groups in Mr. Sheldon Gallagher’s physical education classes and performed original routines for the rest of the school. It was a smashing success and we look forward to another exciting show soon.

Beach Day is coming! Bring your Bermuda shorts, sunglasses and a spirit of adventure to celebrate Family Literacy Day at Christ King School on Jan. 27. Parents, grandparents and other family members are invited to join us for an afternoon of games, prizes, music and fun. RSVP by Jan. 25 by calling the school or writing a note in your child’s agenda.

There will be no school for students on Friday, Jan. 21, 2011. Teachers will be going back to school to kick off our professional learning community (PLC) technology week. We’re looking forward to learning more about integrating technology into our classrooms and teaching with Linda Koskie, technology lead teacher for East Central Alberta Catholic Schools.
