The new exciting challenge is out, which is the December Maker Challenge, which will be the milk carton boat challenge, which sounds exciting. This is a challenge for all the students and parents for our Botha School. The rules go like this:

1. The boat must be made out of a standard 2 liter milk carton.

2. You can cut the milk carton as much as you want.

3. You may discard pieces of the milk carton, or you may choose to use the cut outs to help out with the buoyancy. You may only use one milk carton, however.

4. In terms of adhesives, you may use any type of glue or tape.

5.You may use only the milk carton and adhesive. No other materials are permitted.

6.There are no prizes for this challenge.

7. The winner of this challenge will be decided by which boat can carry the most pennies while still remaining afloat.

8.The challenge will take place on Friday December 22nd. So hopefully every one can get their imaginations working, but most of all have fun with this project.

Nov. 28, is the Junior Achievement visit for the Grade 5/6 class, than Nov. 29, is the 10a board meeting, so hopefully everyone that’s involved can attend this important meeting. Than Thursday is also the professional development day.

December 4 is the very important senior meeting starting at 12 noon so hopefully all seniors will be able to attend. This one will be their Christmas meeting, so this will not be a potluck luncheon to my knowledge, but lunch will be provided. It sounds like a fun time for all seniors. Then the meeting will follow right after.

December 6, there will be our turkey bingo evening, so come on out and try out your luck, who knows you could be one of the lucky winners taking a bird home with you. This time of year a turkey would really come in handy to win. Bingo starts at 7:15, doors open at 6:30, so come on out and try out your luck.

Quilting takes place on December 11, starting at 9:30 a.m., so come on out and join the group. This will be the last one held until after the holiday, so make sure you come on out and finish your Christmas projects that day.

The next Old Tyme Dance will be held on Sunday December 31, (New Years’s eve), in the evening instead of 1:30 p.m. This dance is the only dance they have you must purchase tickets for and only adults are allowed , no minors. To purchase tickets contact Doug Haustein at 403-742-3994, or John Blonski at 403-574-2197 ASAP, as they usually go fast and the band will be the Country Gems band. What a fantastic way to enter the New Year.

Floor curling is every Thursday at 1 p.m. and will continue throughout the holiday season, so come down every Thursday and participate in the game. Everyone is welcome.

Coffee hour will also continue throughout the holiday season so make sure you take time out of your busy schedules and join them every Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. Everyone is invited to join in.
