The Byemoor Mother’s Day Strawberry Tea at the Byemoor Community Hall was well attended on May 10.
Those attending enjoyed entertainment, contests, give-aways and dessert.
The oldest mother in attendance was Eileen Green of Stettler at 96 years. Proceeds went to the Byemoor Centennial Celebration.
More than 60 people enjoyed the Mother’s Day Pancake Breakfast at the Endiang Community Hall on May 11, with several Moms being treated to breakfast out. Winners of the door prizes were Jill Hayden, Kim Wasdal, Ashley Oman and Bonnie McCrindle. The event was hosted by the Endiang Board of Trade.
Recently there has been some exciting news for some young people with a connection to our community.
Brayden Tucker was selected by the Calgary Hitmen in the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft as the 159th pick overall. Brayden played with the OHA Edmonton U15 Prep. He is the son of Brian and Allison Tucker of Edmonton and grandson of Glen and Theresa Tucker. Congratulations Brayden and good luck in Calgary.
Jesse Jack has signed to play pro-hockey in Sweden. Jesse has a love for the game and has been successful in all levels of women’s hockey leading up to going pro. She will be playing for the IF Troja-Ljungby hockey club in Ljungby, Sweden. The team is in the second-highest league in Sweden.
Congratulations Jesse and enjoy this amazing experience. Jesse is the daughter of Rod and Krissy Jack and granddaughter of Wayne and Patsy Gallagher.
The Scapa Strawberry Tea is on Monday, June 2 at the Scapa Hall at 2 p.m. Doors open at 1 p.m. Come and enjoy the entertainment, door prizes, dessert and refreshments. Everyone is welcome. Admission is by donation.
Senior’s Week Coffee Party at the Endmoor Drop-Centre in Byemoor is on Tuesday, June 3 at 2 p.m. All seniors are welcome to come celebrate Senior’s Week.
The Byemoor Centennial Celebration is on Saturday, June 7 in Byemoor. Parade is at 11 a.m. and all entries are welcomed.
Opening Ceremonies are at noon. Afternoon features ball games, kid’s games, tours of the schools, church and cemeteries, history displays, plenty of food and entertainment. The day finishes up with a dance and fireworks. Come celebrate Byemoor’s 100th Birthday.
Remember to save the date, Scapa Centennial Celebration is on Aug. 15 – 16. A pancake breakfast, parade, ball games, kids games, Silent Auction, Beef on a Bun supper and evening music by Mark Fecho are some of the activities on Saturday, Aug. 16.
Happy 80th Birthday wishes are sent to Betty Keibel on May 23rd. Betty celebrated her special birthday earlier with her family when they all could get together. Congratulations on this special milestone and best wishes for many more happy days, Betty.
