Several birthday celebrations this past week: Frank and Eleanor Dahlgren went to Dallas and Cindy McAllister’s in Innisfail to celebrate great-grandson Dallon’s second birthday with supper and birthday cake. About 20 family and friends including grandmothers Helen from Creston, B.C. and Elva from Innisfail were there to help blow out the candles.

Jackie Vackeroth celebrated her birthday with family and friends on Saturday at Donalda. Happy 70th birthday to Terry Rushton, who headed to Alix to be with family and friends also on Saturday. Missed but not forgotten, from the guest book at Bill Boyd’s 80th birthday last week were lifetime friends Lowell Allsion and June Campbell from Great Ben, Alberta (near Red Deer). Lowell and June’s dad and Bill’s dad, Melvin were friends from youth which carried on to the next generation.

Congratulations to Cody Cassidy who won the steer wrestling championship in Houston, Texas recently.

We have lost two members of our community recently. Word has come of the passing of Bob Green. Bob was born and raised northeast of Gadsby. A memorial service for Bob will be held at a later date. Sympathies to family members Larry and Linda Cressman and family as well as sister Peggy Green.

Also sincere sympathies to Ron Schwarzenberger and family on the passing of wife/mother/grandmother Pat. Pat will be remembered for her community work at Shooting Lake; starting the hot lunch program in Gadsby School, and opening her home for baby showers, ladies’ teas and company for supper, cooking your favorite meal.
