BIG VALLEY BULLETIN -- A great big pre-event thank you goes out to Marj Olive-Kilpatrick, the Rodeo Association, Friends of the Library and everyone else involved in organizing Big Valley's 2016 "Christmas in the Village" celebration. We all appreciate the hard work that has been put in to organize this great family event for the community.
We hope to see everyone down at the Hall on Thursday night to enjoy free sleigh rides, card and board games, hot dogs, chili and other yummy treats, besides the Christmas carols, amazing raffle prizes, entertainment including Don Johnson and so much more!
Don't forget to have your Christmas lights turned on that night. The Rodeo Association sleigh rides will be going on throughout the evening if weather permits, judging the displays. We can't wait to see who wins the Christmas light display contest this year.
Friends of the Big Valley Library will host a "Last Minute Gifts" shopping area in the Hall. From 6 to 8 p.m., for a small donation. Kids 15 and under can come in with their lists and shop with one of our elves. They can then wrap the gift they choose and take it home to put under the tree. From 8 to 9 p.m. everyone else will be allowed in. For a small donation, the elves will wrap your gift. All proceeds will go back to programs at the library and in the community. Bundle up your friends and family and come on out to celebrate "Christmas in the Village" with us on Thursday, Dec. 22 at the Jubilee Hall beginning at 6 p.m.
The Big Valley United Church would like to warmly invite everyone to join them at their Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Saturday, Dec. 24 beginning at 7 p.m.
The Big Valley E Free Church will be holding their Dec. 24 Christmas Eve Service at 7 p.m. and their Christmas Day Service at 11 a.m. Everyone is welcome.
The Big Valley Minor Hockey Association is hosting a New Year's Eve Party on Saturday, Dec. 31. Come dance the night away with the Bottle Rockets from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. at the Big Valley Community Hall. There will be a cash bar, midnight lunch and party favours. Come ring in the New Year here in Big Valley. Tickets are available from any Big Valley Minor Hockey Association member or by calling 403-876-2064.
