Mild winter enjoyed by many

GADSBY/WESTWOOD NEWS -- Mark your calendars for Feb. 12 for a Family Valentines Dance at the Gadsby Hall. Everyone welcome.

There’s an old adage, “You can’t take away what you’ve already had”. That could sum up our winter so far. It’s been a milder than normal January; so much so that Fred and Velvet Entwisle had the family out for what they called a “Wiener Roast and Sledding Party” right in their front yard. On hand were Kyle Bigney, Nick and Haley and girls; Tom and Angela and girls. A fun family Saturday!

After an afternoon of playing cards, 500 at Percy and Paulette’s, where the girls won three games, Bill and Joyce Hansel headed over, birthday cake in hand, to help Ray Musgrove celebrate his 10th birthday on Jan. 27. Actual birthday is 26th but Ray is busy with hockey. This weekend Bill attended the Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning hockey games Ray is part of, in Castor. Happy birthday Ray!

A few winter moves as Beatrice Selinger has been staying with daughter Michelle in Stettler; John and Jean Ross has been seen residing in Paragon Place. And it’s great to hear Dale Derr’s second hip surgery is over. The operation took place in Calgary on Jan. 26, he was home the 28. Way to go, Dale!

Happy birthday to Julia Goodkey, who celebrates another year on Feb. 2; and to Grant Musgrove, whose birthday is on Feb. 3.
