May the Fourth be with you

Our summer staff starts next week!

I can’t believe how quickly the year is moving. We are so excited to have Jordana and Chloe join us this year and we love that Andrew is coming back. Stop in and say hello the next time that you are in to check out your items. Now let’s get on with the events for the week.

Our very own Eleanor Bertin has released her second book “Pall of Silence” and she will be at the Stettler Public Library on April 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. talking about her incredibly personal and emotional new book. Come and enjoy the refreshments while Eleanor discusses the process that brought her new book to fruition.

Kids ages eight and up are invited to join the next chapter in our Artist Afternoon series on April 28 at 1 p.m. when they get to explore Fractured Colouring. Use a colour wheel to guide your painting! Purple sky? Red grass? Who knows what you will create?

Don’t forget our weekly Pokemon Swap Meet on Thursdays at 4:30 p.m. Join your friends at the library to play, battle and trade your favourite Pokemon cards.

Let’s go fly a kite! What a wonderful song from Mary Poppins. However, this has nothing to do with Mary Poppins and everything to do with kites. Afterschool with Darlene on May 3 at 3:30 p.m. will celebrate the spring season by enjoying the book “Nu Dang and His Kite” and creating your own kite.

May the Fourth be with you!

Crystal’s Crochet Club is going to celebrate all things Star Wars on May 5 (yes, I know it’s the day after) at 1:30 p.m. when we get to try out some Star Wars crochet patterns. I know the force is strong in you!

May’s installment of the art club is on May 15 at 4 p.m. Explore the wonders of art and make the next great masterpiece. Registration is required and space is limited so call the library at 403-742-2292 to register.

Will you be attending the Steel Wheel Stampede? The Stettler Public Library will be! Join us on June 8 from 3 to 8 p.m. and June 9 from 12 to 7 p.m. for movies, games, crafts and so much more. Look for us in the Agriplex.
