Friday, April 15 will be a busy day for Christ King School!

We will be attending mass at Christ King Parish on Friday, April 15 at 11:15 a.m., followed by a hot lunch at the Parish Hall. Proceeds from this simple soup lunch will go to “Development and Peace.”

Later that night, the school community will be leading the Stations of the Cross at the church at 7 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to join us as we remember the steps Jesus took at Calvary and reflect on His sorrowful passion on Good Friday.

Aspen Ford and Christ King School are teaming up to kick start our fundraising efforts for a new community playground. The “Drive One 4 UR School” campaign starts on Friday, April 15 at 3 p.m. and runs until 6 p.m. Look for us at the trade show again on Saturday, April 16, for more chances to test drive a Ford to raise money to benefit all the children of Stettler.

Mark May 1 on your calendar and join us for a spring brunch at the Parish Hall, which Mr. Neil Nguyen of Club Cafe has generously offered to prepare. The proceeds will go towards the new playground. It will start at 12 noon and run until 2 p.m.

Looking farther ahead, Christ King School will be hosting a spring carnival on May 11. We can look forward to a fun evening of games, activities and prizes. Watch for more details and plan to bring your whole family.

Teacher Erin Sturtevant hopes to start the babysitting course later this week, as soon as student manuals arrive. Grade 6 -9 students will take the course and are looking forward to learning the skills needed to babysit, to being more responsible and to know what to do in an emergency.

Kindergarten and Grade 2 students were planning another visit to their golden pals for Tuesday, April 12.

Grade 3-4 students have begun an art project to liven up a hallway at Christ King School (see photo). The Grade 5-6 class is leading a new “Wellness Wednesday” project starting this Wednesday. They will be challenging all students to bring in a litter-free lunch. Stay tuned for more details and the winners.

We pray for many blessings for our school families and all of Stettler as spring springs into our days.
