My, what a change in the weather. The Rowley ski-doo rally held last weekend was such a success with great amounts of snow in some areas.

My, what a change in the weather. The Rowley ski-doo rally held last weekend was such a success with great amounts of snow in some areas.

This weekend, the Rumsey Ag. Society planned a snowmobile rally for Jan. 16, and low and behold the warm weather of the week caused the snow to settle and in some places disappear entirely. Consequently, no rally for Rumsey this weekend.

While doing some yearly cleaning at the drop-in, there is a quantity of dishes that were found packed away at one time.

The plates are the particular solid white ones that were used in the cafes at one time. They are very thick, and are available to someone who would like to have them. There is also a quantity of saucers that don’t have a matching cup. Maybe you would like to look at them to see if you could replace one or more that have been broken in your home.

There is drop-in held each Wednesday of the month in the afternoon. Come for coffee and have a look. Another article that is available for the taking is paperbacks and some hare covered books.

By Monday, Jan. 25, the men’s bonspiel will be under way in Rumsey. If you haven’t already entered your team, call David Sengaus, 403-368-2457 to make the entry.

Remember the oyster supper held at the rink on Thursday, Jan. 28 beginning approximately 5 p.m. Steak suppers are available each night of the bonspiel, so there is something for each person’s palate. Friday night is a sponsored ‘wing’ night for those who care to participate, and also, the bonspiel supper Saturday night is open for anyone who would care to come. Supper is following the playoffs of the ‘spiel.

Activities in the area, as I knew it, were minimal this week. Phone me with some of the news articles that I don’t know about.
