Many Easter visitors in the community over long weekend

Gadsby/Westwoods

Easter greetings!

And we finally enjoyed double digit temperatures Sunday.

Bill and Joyce Hanselhad 18 of their family home for a great Easter. Marylou and Stan and family, Sandra and family and Sandra’s baby granddaughter, Sue and her family.

Gloria and Stan Diegel started with a family tradition. Friday night all their local grandchildren were over to decorate eggs.

Sunday, Tasha and Aaron, Mac and Clyde; Arden and Deanne and family; Ybiette and girls as well as Richelle and Greg and family were all home.

Gordon and Shirley Reynolds had Karen, Colten and Amanda and Daryl Pimrose on Sunday.

Percy and Paulette Heer started Good Friday with John and Jewel for supper. Then Sunday picked up mom Iona Berg and headed to Three Hills to daughter Christy and Curtis Wideman, Matthew, Clayton and Josie. Curtis and Christy also had a Korean family for Easter and exchanged Easter traditional foods.

While talking to Paulette’s cousin Jan in Trondheim, Norway, Jan informed her that he reads the Stettler Independent online every week and wants to say hello to everyone he has met while in Canada.

Frank and Eleanor Dahlgren took in the final western tour for Tommy Hunter. It was a sell out crowd, held at the Memorial Center in Red Deer and was a really good show. Tommy Hunter will be ending his stage career next spring, in eastern Canada when he turns 75 years of age.

Elsie Yates had recently returned from a spring visit to the states. Elsie was in Spring Bank and Washington, D.C. where she enjoyed the cherry blossom season and the highlight for Elsie was the Metropolitan Museum of Art there. Elsie spent about two weeks with son Glen, who lives about two hours from D.C., in Maryland. Glen had a trade show in Atlantic City which Elsie attended with him and experienced a tornado storm but all was safe where they were at. But mostly she enjoyed the flowers and blossoms.

Last weekend, Betty Hadwin drove to Caroline to attend the annual cross stitch retreat at Camp Caroline. There were 55 ladies with needle and thread and the third year at Caroline.

Easter weekend Frank and Betty drove to Tomahawk to spend time with daughter Margaret and family.

Don’t forget to come out and vote next Monday, May 2, 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. in Gadsby Community Hall. We have six candidates to choose from so come out and be heard on ballot!
