Memorial Golf Tournament is on Sept. 12 at the Big Valley Golf Course, registration 10 a.m., tee off at 11 a.m. Nine- hole Texas Scramble, beef on a bun to follow. The course will be closed for tournament from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There are unconfirmed reports of a cougar sighting on the Big Valley Golf Course. Please be careful and keep your eyes open.

Bylaw 771 requires all dogs in the village must be registered and licensed. There are still a few that need tags. Fees $15 spayed/neutered, $30 non spayed/ non neutered.

The Oil Kings organizational meeting is on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m., the venue changed from the arena to the drop- in-centre. It is extremely important they have all interested people attend as it will decide whether or not the team will continue. They are looking for people to serve as directors that require attending one monthly meeting, people to sell tickets at the gate and 50/50 tickets. The train schedule has slowed down with only two trains coming in, this week’s are Sept. 5 and 6. Sept. 5, a murder mystery leaving Stettler 2:30 p.m. and Sept 6, a family special leaving Stettler 11 a.m.
