Lots of visiting over Easter break

DeLores Duris came "home" for a few days, staying with Phyllis Epp in Stettler and Hazel (Thomas) and Harold Haldal, Gadsby. While here, she met with several friends, visited Paragon Place, and a quick visit from Paulette at Hazel's where they all admired Hazel and Harold's new kitchen reno.

Fred and Velvet Entwisle hosted an Easter/birthday party last weekend. All the family arrived in Gadsby for good food, lots of outdoor games and birthday cake and presents for Kamryn Bigney (Tom and Angela's youngest) who turned one. Then daughter Haley and Nick and their girls headed to Kimberley B.C. for a week of visiting. They stayed with Nick's parents in Cranbrooke; visited grandparents Ben and Linda; Pat and Shirley on Haley's side of the family as well as aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.

Velvet's niece Veronica stayed overnight recently while in the process of moving.

Get well wishes to Sam Wilson, who remains in hospital following a severe fall and broken hip. Hope you're out and about soon.

This Sunday, Bill and Joyce Hansel enjoyed a short visit from grandson Curtis and Corinne Trennery and their three little ones who stopped in on their way to Corrine's grandpa Buster Walker's birthday at the Club Café in Stettler.

The Sparkle Festival in Stettler was a great success. From Gadsby, Shayla Derr won high gold in hiphop dance. Charlee Derr's group received gold (hiphop) and Charlee placed Silver in her solo. Congratulations to all the participants.

The Big Knife 4H beef club is busy preparing for the mini-show which will be held April 25. Good luck to all.

Westwood's Ag Center is booking fast for the summer. If interested in booking go on-line to www.westwoods.ca. Congratulations to Cody Cassidy who placed second in the American finals recently.

A private family ceremony was held at the Gadsby Omega Cemetery April 2 in memory of Nelson Connon, who passed away December 29, 2015. The service was conducted by grandson Colin Connon, followed by some stories related by Nelson's sons and grandchildren. Close to 60 family members later gathered at Heritage Place in Gadsby for visiting and refreshments.
