Locals received community awards - Botha Booster

The Botha community would like to congratulate two special guys for receiving awards at the award night held at Nevis this past Friday, Jan. 21. D.J. Kistner received the youth award, and Gilbert Van Straten got the lifetime achievement award. Way to go, guys.

With longer daylight time - and they are saying this week is going to be a little warmer - this will be a nice change from all this cold weather and snow. Come out Wednesday’s mornings at 10 a.m. to join your neighbours and friends and have a cup of coffee with them. This is held at the Botha Seniors’ Centre.

Valentine’s Day is coming up within a month, so book the Botha Hall now for your get-togethers or parties. Please phone Marsha at 403-742-2559, to reserve the hall.

Any plans for the afternoon of Sunday Jan. 30? Why not come out at 1:30 p.m. and enjoy the music from the Badlanders. Please bring a desert or salad with you and come out and have a dance or two. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. These are held at the Botha Hall.

Botha meeting this time will be on Feb. 7 at 12 noon. Please bring a potluck dish with you, as the meeting starts out with a potluck meal with the meeting to follow.

All seniors are welcome to attend and these meeting are held at the seniors’ centre.

Calling Everyone! Church Services at the Botha United Church are held every Sunday Morning at 11 a.m. with Reverend Susan Bowyer officiating. Everyone is welcome.

Men, got any free time Monday’s and Thursday evenings? Take a break away from your busy lives and come on out and join other men for a relaxing game of hockey. For more information on this please contact Murray Davidson at 403-741-5276.
