It’s election season in Alberta this month and there’s nothing like hearing directly from the candidates. Meet those who are running to represent the Drumheller-Stettler constituency at our Candidates Forum on Mon, May 8 at 7 p.m. Candidates will present their own credentials and vision as well as their party’s platform, offering you a chance to ask your questions in person. If you cannot make it in person, we will be live streaming it on our Facebook page and the recording will be there to view at a later date. It’s a great way to learn about the local hopefuls as well as the issues in this year’s election, so join us Monday night for an informative evening.

Children:

Our Read & Rhyme program for little ones aged 0 to 5 years has been running for nearly 30 years, which means some of the parents now bringing their children may have listened to the stories and sung the songs when they were kids themselves. Make Read & Rhyme part of your child’s memories on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. This is a drop-in program so if only one day of the week works for you, we welcome you then.

Kids Coding Club lets budding computer nerds, ages 6 and up, create stories, movies, and games using the Scratch Jr. program. Join us on Mon, May 8 at 4 p.m. but call first to register.

Join us for Something Cool After School on Thu, May 4 at 4 p.m. as we create colourful and crazy piñatas. Next up are straw rockets – launch your design to fly the farthest on Tue, May 9 at 4 p.m. when we’ll have fun with these mini missiles. On Thu, May 11, 4 p.m., have your cake and eat it too when we make Cake in a Mug. For ages 6 and older.

Only a few more weeks in the school year—does your child need help to finish well? Call the library and ask for an appointment for free one-on-one tutoring Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays after school.
