When School’s Out, the Library’s In!
Come to the library on April 21 at 1 p.m. for an exciting showing of Rise of the Guardians. Return on April 22, again at 1 p.m., for the story of Wall-E, the cosmic comedy adventure about a determined robot.
Something Cool After School returns on April 24 at 4 p.m. and we’ll put on our scientist hats and experiment with light bulbs.
Encourage your child’s early language and literacy skills by bringing them (0-5 yrs) to Read & Rhyme Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
Ask the staff about 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, the reading program that will reward you with a small prize for each 100 books you read to your child, and repeats count.
Teens & ’Tweens:
Star Wars: Rogue One will be playing at Teen Scene on April 23 from 4:30-6 p.m. Popcorn always makes an appearance. Ages 10 and up.
Jasper and the crew always have a blast with personalized storytelling at Dungeons & Dragons Night each Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Ages 13 +. Snacks are provided!
Adults:
Relax on Zoom with Yoga Nidra on April 17 at 8 p.m. Cameras will be off, so if you doze during the session, no one will know. Call or message the library for the Zoom link.

Loving someone who drinks to excess challenges a person mentally, physically, and emotionally. The folks at Al-Anon understand. Join them Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. for support and coping strategies.
Afternoon Friends will gather together for a movie matinee on Tue, April 22 at 1 p.m. Each week we meet for games, crafts, or movies and relaxing fun with other adults.
Reader’s Circle is reading Fire Weather by John Vaillant this month. There’s still time to pick up a copy of this nonfiction book about the destructive power of wildfires before the book club meets to discuss it on April 30 at 6:30 p.m.
Minds in Motion is a program of the Alzheimer Society designed to maximize brain power for those noticing some cognitive decline. We meet on Wednesdays at 1-3 p.m. for light exercise and mentally stimulating games at a low-stress pace.
We at the Stettler Public Library are very excited to have a special Film Circuit on May 9 at 7 p.m. at the Performing Arts Centre.
Our movie for the evening, The Ties that Bind, is a movie set in 1930’s Alberta about a family caught in a large scandal and is filmed in and around Central Alberta. We will be joined by director/producer James Reckseidler and members of the cast and crew for a Q&A following the movie. Early bird tickets are $10, available at the library, or $15 at the door. Come and celebrate local cinema!
