Everybody has a story, and some of us write them down.
Alberta author Vonda Peterson has written her memories of a traumatic life event in her book, A Hole in Our Hearts: The Search for the Son Who Didn’t Know He was Lost.
Peterson arrives in Stettler on Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. to share readings from the memoir. She’ll be joined by her son, Kelly Neville, whom she gave up for adoption at birth, and share the amazing story of their reuniting.
Join us in hearing this fascinating story, ask your questions in person, and get your copy of the book signed by the authors.
Explore the vibrant world of art at the library through the captivating exhibit “Pretend Foraging in Sleeved Blankets” by Lethbridge-based artist Grace Wirzba.
On display at the library until Oct. 2, Wirzba’s art features thirteen drawings and eight mini quilts reminiscent of the artist’s concepts of home.
We also have the intricate pencil sketches by Linda Osetsky-Kneeland of local landmarks.
Speaking of fiction, starting this week, we’re collecting gently-used books, both fiction and non-fiction for our annual Spooktacular Book Sale, Oct. 19-25.
We will also take dvds, cds, and video games but no textbooks or encyclopedias, please.
