We’ve got plenty of fun for all ages planned for Family Day (Feb. 17) at the Stettler Recreation Centre.
Bundle everyone up and start with a pancake breakfast from 9-11 a.m. Then stick around for live music by the local band, Rhubarb Cabaret from 11:30-12:45.
Make sure that you fit time in there to transform your face into something exotic with a little bit of face painting from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
After a hotdog lunch from noon to 1:30 p.m., afternoon activities begin at 1 pm and go on until 3 p.m.
Choose from a variety of sports like family swimming, shinny, or a public skate with Klay the DJ.
Don’t forget to get your picture taken at the photo booth to remember the fun you’ll have.
And for the littlest ones, we’ll have a rave for mini people—parents will want to have a camera handy.
The library will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for your reading and viewing needs on Family Day.
Whether you need a book or movie to get you through the day or you need a quiet space during the festivities, the library will be open for you.
Children:
When School is out, the Library is in! Join us for Perler Bead Mania on Feb 13 & 14 at 1 p.m. Create a magnificent piece over two days or make something new on each day! Ages 6 and up.
When the kids are back at school, there will always be Something Cool After School on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 p.m.
Create a keychain, a zipper tag or something really cool with Shrinky Dinks on Feb. 18.
Craft your own cup-and-ball game for hours of fun, Thur, Feb. 20, 4 p.m. Ages 6 and up.
Children are never too young to introduce them to the wonders of literature. Bring them to Read & Rhyme on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday morning at 10:30 for stories, songs, rhymes and playtime.
Participate in 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, we’ll reward you with a small prize each time you reach your family reading goals.
Teens & ’Tweens:
Good things come in small packages, so make a cool shrinky plastic thingmabob with us on Feb. 19 at 4:30 p.m.
If you love fantasy and storytelling, Dungeons & Dragons Night is for you. Join us on Tuesdays, 5:30 p.m. Ages 13 +. There will be snacks to feed your imagination.
Adults:
Create a heart, or some other cute or cuddly item with needle felting at Crystal’s Crafters on Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. To register, call the library.
Discover the magic of music through our lively and accessible ukulele jam on Feb. 18 at 3 p.m. We have several instruments available for use if you don’t have your own.
Seniors, keep your joints and muscles limber with Gentle Yoga on Feb. 18 at 10:30 a.m. You can get a free ride via HandiBus to this program by requesting pick up at 403-742-5858.
Come for a Byte on Feb. 25 at 11-1 p.m. will equip seniors 55+ with the familiarity and confidence to safely navigate online and recognize scams. Lunch is provided for this free program, so call to reserve your spot today.

Minds in Motion is a program of the Alzheimer Society that offers physical and mental exercise to help retain cognitive ability. Join us on Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m.
