Why not treat your mom to a night out in honour of Mother’s Day?

You can support local filmmaking and enjoy an award-winning Alberta production shot in and around Central Alberta tomorrow (May 9) at 7 p.m. at the Stettler Performing Arts Centre. The Ties That Bind, directed by Delburne-based director/producer James Reckseidler, delves into the murky depths of family where all debts collect interest. Enjoy the film, then stay for a Q&A with James and members of the cast and crew.

There’s still time to pick up early bird tickets at the library for $10. At the door, admission is $15. Ages 13 and up.

Interact with a published author on May 15 at 6:30 p.m. when Lacombe-based Alberta writer Fran Kimmel will share her latest novel, Cattail Lane, an uplifting family drama about overcoming the past and the extraordinary power of second chances.

Fran is an engaging and inspiring speaker who has published short stories, plays, and novels. Copies of her book will be available for purchase. Light refreshments will also make a guest appearance. Call the library to register.
