Is it time for you to slow down, maybe even sell your business?

Get the advice you need at our presentation, BizPlanSell, offering experienced virtual business selling help for owners of family businesses on Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m.

Join Gil Poulin as he shares 45 years’ worth of tips and insight into what you can do to prepare and make smarter selling decisions. Attend via Zoom, or join Zoom with us at the library for this valuable presentation and the question time to follow. Please register by calling the library.

For a relaxing and economical night out on Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m., gather a group of friends and watch November’s Film Circuit presentation, Ru. It is the story of a shy young Vietnamese girl and her family who arrive in Quebec after a perilous sea crossing to begin a new life.

Admission is free although donations are gratefully accepted. There’s also a concession for all your noshing needs. The popcorn will be hot and buttery!

Children:

School’s Out, Library’s In on Nov. 1 when we’ll show The Sandlot at 1 p.m. Bring your friends for the movie and popcorn.

We always have Something Cool After School on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 p.m. Join us on Oct. 31 and get ready for exploding ghosts! Then on Nov. 5, we’ll create our own deep-sea aquariums.

Come back on Nov. 7 when you’ll make the fastest, fanciest paper airplanes of all time. Ages 6 and up.

Enter the world of language and song with your little ones (0-5 yrs) at Read & Rhyme on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 10:30 a.m. When you and your littles participate in 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, you can get a small prize for each reading milestone you reach. Ask the library staff for more information.

Teens & ’Tweens: 

What could be better than making your own robot? Why, making a fencing robot that can destroy its opponent! Join us on Nov. 6 for this event, but be sure to pre-register. Ages 10 and up.

Join Jasper and friends for Dungeons & Dragons Night, a fun-filled time of friendship, role-playing, and adventure every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. Ages 13 +. We provide snacks!

Adults:

Set the mood for a chilly winter night with a beautiful, frosted luminary you’ll create yourself at Crystal’s Crafters on Nov. 7 at 6:30 p.m., but be sure to pre-register by calling the library.

Come join us, the Afternoon Friends, for fun watching the movie Despicable Me 4 on Nov. 5 at 1 p.m.

Pick up your copy of the November Reader’s Circle selection, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab in which “a young woman makes a Faustian bargain to live forever—and is cursed to be forgotten by everyone she meets.”

We’ll meet on Nov. 27 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss this novel spanning three centuries.

Sometimes artsy folks just need to talk shop. Join us at Stettler Art Club on Thursdays at 6 p.m. to create and collaborate on art projects. Bring your own supplies and projects.

Are you or is someone you know experiencing cognitive decline? Minds in Motion on Thursdays at 1 p.m. can help, with an hour of light exercise followed by an hour of brain-stimulating games in a relaxed social setting. Caregivers are welcome, too.

If you are affected by the over-consumption of alcohol by someone close to you, Al-Anon may be able to help. Join our confidential support meetings for coping strategies each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

All Ages: 

This Saturday (Nov. 2) has so much packed into it that there will be something for everyone in your family.

Start your weekend with a family foray into the world of magic with our engaging Saturday Storytime session at 10:15 a.m. Then duke it out as your favourite Nintendo character at 1 p.m. for the Super Smash Bros. tournament. Finally, dive into our vast LEGO collection with friends who love building at LEGO Club at 3 p.m. Ages 6 and up.

On Mondays from 8-9 p.m., gamers from Stettler and Rocky Mountain House battle it out online. Get the link from the library to participate in the group chat and be sure to sign up with Nintendo Switch Online so you can be part of the Nintendo games.
