GADSBY/WESTWOODS NEWS — We have been enjoying a reprieve from winter! A lot of the snow has disappeared, leaving icy patches in yards and on the streets, and even bare patches of grass – mine has a hint of green!

Bill Hansel is enjoying the Canadian national winter sport – yes, hockey – travelling to Killam with Grant Musgrove Thursday night, Jan. 26 to watch Grant’s son Ray and his team take on and win against their hosts. Grant aides in coaching the team. Saturday night, Jan. 28 they travel to Castor for a home game.

Frank and Eleanor Dahlgren hosted a post birthday supper for granddaughter Kristina Kobi. It’s hard to believe she is already 25 years, we’ve watched her grow and succeed as she became an adult. Parents Bonnie and Dwayne, Kristina (and Eric) enjoyed a favourite meal and ice cream cake to round off the evening. Happy birthday Kristina!

Wayne and Margery Glasier had a five-day visit from Wayne’s sister Kay and Doug Hankinson recently. While together they headed to Lacombe for a visit with brother Harvey and Barb.

A quick add on from last week: Charley and Reid Smith’s new baby boy is Jenner Keith Smith, a brother for Talon, Stryden and Remi.

Hazel and Harold Holdall hosted a Christmas family day with 13 family members gathering for food, visiting and games.

Get well wishes to Aunt Jean Hankins who is recuperating from a fall and has been in Ponoka General Hospital this past week.
