I wish I could list everybody who received an award but it’s not really possible. This year Top Spanish Student awards – sponsored by Big Valley Curling Club. went to Gr. 4- Courtlyn Bardwell, Gr. 5- MacKenzie Gauvin, Gr. 6- Koral Presley, Gr. 7- Allie Hiemstra, Gr 8-Makayla Hiemstra, Gr. 9-Derek Muhlbach.

The Royal Purple Ladies and some non Royal Purple Ladies worked hard on Thursday Oct. 15 to make the Christmas cakes. They are available through Sharon Duncan 403-876-2779, so make sure you get your order in early.

The pancake supper on Monday night, Oct. 19 had a pretty good turnout of 23 people coming out for pancakes and sausages. I’ve heard that the sausages where a big hit and everybody really enjoyed them. The next pancake supper will be Nov 2.

Don’t forget the Brett Kissel Dinner Show Nov. 14, at the Big Valley Jubilee Hall. Cocktails 6 p.m. with dinner 7 p.m. entertainment at 8:30 p.m.

The flu clinic will be on Nov. 4 between 10 a.m. and noon at the Big Valley Drop-in Centre.

Big Valley Ag. Society has its general meeting Nov. 16 7:30 p.m. at the Big Valley Jubilee Hall, to discuss next year’s hockey program.

Byemoor’s annual roast beef supper was again excellent, they deserve a big thanks for all the varieties of salads. Everything was very good, including the service from the girls serving refreshments, and the gentleman bringing around the fantastic desserts.

The crib results from Sunday Oct. 25: 1st Dorothy Annable, 2nd Margaret Levesque, 3rd Joanne Murphy, and boobie Len Shaw.

Don’t forget pancake supper at the drop-in Monday, Nov 2, 5:30 p.m. Pot luck lunch and meeting Nov. 3 at 12 noon.

Big Valley Municipal Library will be celebrating 20 years of service, and Parkland Regional Library 50 years of service. Join them for cake and coffee at the library on Friday Nov. 6, between 10 a.m. and 12 noon.
