ERSKINE ENQUIRER -- Happy heat wave!! It's way too early for this kind of heat. Hopefully we'll get some rain, so the fire bans can come off for the long weekend.

Coming up on Mother's Day is the pancake breakfast at the IOOF Hall in Erskine. It's a great breakfast, so come on out and support the Oddfellows.

Provincial Achievement Tests begin of Tuesday, May 10 with Language Arts Part A for Grade 9s, and May 12 for Grade 6s. Then more in June. The school is looking for ECS students for the future. If you need more information, please contact the school at 742-5220. The kids will get an extra long weekend with PD on Thursday, May 19. Friday is a day off for teachers and students and then the Victoria Day weekend begins. June 2 is the grade 9 farewell.

Don't forget crib playing at the seniors' centre at 1:30 Wednesdays. Please use the west door. Also ceramics takes place Wednesday afternoons at the Waverly Club Rooms at 1.

There will be no knitting club meetings until September and there will be no dance jams for the seniors until September.
