March 1 was cold, but sunny and calm, although the day before and after were stormy days. Not sure if that constitutes March coming in as a lamb or a lion but those who follow this folklore will no doubt be predicting what March goes out like.
Some scientists are now saying the world is actually enduring a global cooling trend and ocean temperatures are lower than average and temperatures around the world have been lower than average the past couple of years. Somehow, this seems easier to believe than the global warming theory.
We extend sympathy to Mary Braun and Tim Wigemyr on the recent passing of Mary’s mother.
We also send sympathy to the family of Yvonne Walker who passed away on Feb. 27. Our thoughts are with her husband Gordon (Tick) Walker, daughter Lynne Nixon, son Vince Walker and their families, her mother Barbara Schilling and many other relatives and friends in their sad loss.
Get well wishes are sent out to the following who are in the hospital or just home from the hospital – Betty Nixon in Stettler, Patsy Sorensen in Castor and Bobbi (Mrs. Kelly) Buchwitz in Drumheller. Hope you are all well soon.
Bruce and Kate Woelk spent a week at home and now Bruce is back in Calgary taking his final round of chemotherapy treatments.
Dale and Dee Green were fortunate to escape some bitter winter weather with a vacation to the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
The local floor curlers are hosting a St. Patrick’s Day Funspiel at the Endiang Hall on March 17. Be sure to wear something green and maybe the luck of the Irish will be with you that day. They say on St. Patrick’s Day, there are only two kinds of people, those who are Irish and those who wish they were.
