Interacting with Stettler library over Internet has just got better

August has started and it amazes me that time is flying by so fast to think that summer is almost over.

The Summer Reading Program at Stettler Public Library has been a success and it is still going strong. Just because the summer is half over, it is not too late to have your children take part in Destination Jungle. It runs every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and there are two different age groups. Children entering into grades 1 to 3 will join us from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. while children in grades 4 to 6 will be welcomed at 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m..

Patty has discovered that we are currently fully stocked with boxes. We would like to thank all of you who donated your boxes to our cause. We may be making another appeal in the future but for now we have enough.

Bambinos and Botanicals with Alicia has moved from Friday mornings to Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. to noon. Join Alicia for gardening, stories, rhymes and playtime while learning about where their food comes from. Preschoolers and their big people are all welcome.

Have you ever discovered that you are all packed and ready to go for your trip and realize that you have nothing to read but you have no time to get to the library? Or is your schedule just too jam- packed to allow you to visit the library? Did you know that the staff of the Stettler Public Library can put together a bag filled with materials that suit your needs? Simply call the library at 403.742.2292, let us know who you are, what you like and your library barcode and our knowledgeable staff can put together a batch of items for you so that the bag can be ready for you to pick up by noon our next business day. Be the first on your block to try out our great new service.

Come on in and check out our display of staff picks. The table features an array of picks covering all genres and there are a few movies as well. So if you are having troubles deciding what to read or watch next, the staff picks table can help you.

If you want to check what is new on our shelves at the Stettler Public Library, you can find them at our website: http://spl.prl.ab.ca. Our new website has new adult titles on the bottom of the main page. You can click on each title that interests you and a separate window with our catalogue pops up, allowing you to place a hold on the title with your barcode and pin numbers. If teen and kids titles interest you, they can be found under the kids and teens tabs at the top of the page.

Did you know that accessing your account is easier with our new website? At the top of the homepage of Stettler Public Library’s website is a link simply called “My Account”. It takes you directly to the catalogue page requesting your barcode and pin numbers. Entering these numbers then take you to your main account page.

Have you read a fabulous book that you want everybody to know about? Use the online form found on our website to submit your review. The review will then be posted on our blog page on our website.
