Intense June program at the library

Summer is right around the corner and so is the Summer Reading Program at the library.

STETTLER PUBLIC LIBRARY -- Summer is right around the corner and so is the Summer Reading Program at the library. Jessie and I have been hard at work planning a summer full of fun and reading and we cannot wait for it to start. The schedule is now available online and at the library.

On June 25, we will be celebrating Get Your Summer Read on day at the library. Join us for lunch and games for all ages. This is the perfect opportunity to register for the program. We have a goal of 30 registrants on this day so come in and help us meet our goal.

This year we have three main age groups. The Monkeys, who are ages six to eight years, will meet at 10:30 to 12 on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings. The Lions, who are ages nine to 12 years, will meet at 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Both the monkeys and lions will be chock full of fun and reading. The Wolves, who are ages 13 and up, will meet on Tuesdays for gaming, Wednesdays for cooking, and Thursdays for a fun activity.

We are also running a gardening program on Mondays from 3 to 4 p.m. We have a spot near the library where we will be growing vegetables and flowers to enjoy. On Wednesday mornings from 10:30 to 12, we will be at the hall at Rochon Sands. Join us for fun for all ages. We will have crafts, games, and more, so if you are spending time at the lake this summer, feel free to join in on the fun. Also on Wednesdays, we will have Make and Create. This is for ages nine and up and will feature technology, as well as all kinds of things to be made.

Over the summer, Read and Rhyme will be on Friday mornings from 10:30 to 11:30. Parents and kids ages up to five years are welcome to come in for fun and songs. On Friday afternoons, we will have a family event for all ages. We will have all kinds of activities from bowling to visiting guests to a planetarium visit.

In the month of June, we have some super fun programs coming up. On Thursday, June 9, there’s a design your own mug program, where we will be creating fun, permanent designs on mugs. Please preregister by calling the library. On Saturday, June 11, join us for a cool Star Wars Father’s Day card and paracord bracelet craft. On June 15, we will be making brush bots, to race and battle for prizes. Preregister to reserve your spot. Read and Rhyme is hosting Party with Paddington on Friday, June 17 at the library. Join in the snacks, crafts and party with your favourite bear from Peru.
