I have a big zucchini

The Red Deer River Garden Club is gearing up for a big show this Aug. 31 with the plentiful gardens that are all around the community.

RUMSEY RECORD -- The Red Deer River Garden Club is gearing up for a big show this Aug. 31 with the plentiful gardens that are all around the community. I hope you will consider entering some of your great flowers and garden produce. There will be books available at the post office and with Garden Club members Diane McBride and Mary Newton.

I’ll warn you now I do think I have the largest zucchini growing in my garden. If anyone wants some zucchini let me know because where there are big zucchini there are plenty of small zucchini. On the day of the garden show, there will also be an open viewing of the entries from 4 to 6 p.m. with supper from 5 to 7 p.m. If you are busy in the field, you can always run in for a quick meal and still support the Garden Club.

Sandy McNaughton let me know that she has successfully filled all the shifts needed for the casino dates but would love it if one or two people from Rumsey would be willing to put their names in as stand-bys because with silaging going full steam ahead and haying still going, there may be a volunteer who can’t get away to volunteer.

I hope you get a giggle:

A mom texts, “Hi! Son, what does IDK, LY, & TTYL mean?” He texts back, “I Don’t Know, Love You, & Talk To You Later.” The mom texts him, “It’s ok, don’t worry about it. I’ll ask your sister, love you too.”

Have a great week.
