RAD Parade – A couple of weeks ago the Heartland Youth Center’s RAD kids participated in a sidewalk parade at Heart Haven.

August is disappearing fast, as is our RAD summer program.

This week’s activities involve a variety of culinary creations as well as a trip to Discovery Canyon.

Our adventurous female teens are on a three day camping trip in Nordegg where they are doing some hiking and fishing, returning to Stettler on Thursday.

Next week’s festivities include some friendly challenges such as Fear Factor and Clue Mysteries, concluding with a wind-up on August 20.

This summers Teen Trip Program has been going well, although we would have liked to see more new members.

Trips have included a day at Wild Rapids, slurping jello at Dragon City Cafe followed by a movie in Red Deer, paintball at Pure Pandemonium, as well as a trip to the Atlas Coal Mine in Drumheller.

Due to the rain last week, our plans to visit the Lacombe Corn Maze turned into a shopping spree at Bower Mall and taking in a movie at Carnival Cinemas.

Our Teen Trip wind-up will be held at HYC on August 21, more teens are welcome to join this BBQ and fun night.

Please note that we will not be running RAD summer programs during the last week of August.

After school programs will once again be offered this fall, although a start date has not yet been determined.

In-School Mentoring programs will start mid September.
