We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and enjoyed the time with your families. Many in the district had guests over the Easter weekend.
Here it is nearly May and there are still snow drifts to be found. It seems a late spring and a late Easter goes hand in hand.
Easter is never the same date and for those wondering how the date of Easter is determined, it is held on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the spring Equinox.
This year Easter was on April 24; in 2012 it will be April 8, in 2013 on March 31 and in 2014 on April 20.
The Endiang Community Society held their annual meeting last Tuesday evening at the Endiang Hall. New executive were elected as follows: president – Marlene Wallace, vice president – Jim Sorensen, secretary – Bobbi Buchwitz and treasurer – Leanne Sorensen.
The new board made some plans for the coming year. The hall will not be putting on pancake breakfasts for Mother’s Day, nor Father’s Day. So, if any other organizations are interested, they are most welcome to do so. The hall board has planned a Suit Case Dance for Nov. 5 (make sure your passports are up to- date) and will once again be having the New Year’s Eve dance.
Don’t forget to cast your vote for the federal election on May 2. There will be voting polls in both Endiang and Byemoor operating from the community halls from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Remember to get your tickets for the Chevelles performance coming to the Endmoor Arena in Byemoor on May 7 and enjoy some dancing to the rock tunes from the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Tickets are sold in advance only until May 1 and not available at the door. They are available from Rhonda Maginn 403-579-2228 or Denny Dettmer 403-579-2529. This band is being brought back by popular demand by the Endmoor Minor Hockey Association and the Sullivan Lake West Ag. Society. Come out and support these young people and have a great evening.
The Stettler District 4-H Show will be held in Byemoor this year on May 23-24 hosted by the Byemoor 4-H Beef Club, so mark your calendars and be sure to come and show your support.
