An event only canceled twice before in its history is making a comeback to Stettler in 2022.

Heartland Youth Centre’s annual Bowl for Kids will be rolling into town on Fri, March 11.

The 33rd edition of the fundraiser, it has only been cancelled twice previously in its history.

It was cancelled for the first time back in 1990 and then ran again every year until the pandemic entered the world and caused the cancellation of the 2021 edition, though a fundraising raffle was held in its place.

The fundraiser’s theme this year is “Life’s a Beach,” and teams are encouraged to pull out their beach-wear for the event.

Heartland Youth Centre is still taking applications for four-to-six person teams to compete in the fundraiser.

Teams can be registered by calling 403-742-5437 and booking a lane time of either 11 a.m., 5 p.m., 6:15 p.m., or 7:30 p.m.

Teams competing in the event are required to collect a minimum of $150 in pledges which they are to bring with them to Heartland Bowl on Mar. 11.

The top fundraisers for the 2020 event were:

-Royal Bank-Business Team

-the Bowling Bags-Community Team

-Dayne and Zayne Kromm; Vada Peters-HYC Members

-DNR- Best Dressed Team (mythical creatures)

-Shoppers Drug Mart, Stettler Elementary Staff- Best Dressed Runners up
