One couldn’t ask for better weather than the night of the family skating party in Erskine last weekend. The rink was flooded the night before so it was smooth and ready for everyone to enjoy as about 40 people showed up for skating and treats.
On Valentine’s Day Erskine hosted the Family Day Curling Fun spiel as 12 teams entered and about 48 children and youth showed up and curled. It was a fun day and all participants went home with the prize of Olympic Mitts.
Nevis hosts a community potluck supper this at Nevis Hall every second and fourth Friday of each month at 6pm. So bring your favorite dish and grab your family and head down to the hall for great food and fun.
Nevis also has a Coffee Party every Monday morning at 10 a.m. Anyone wishing to come for a visit and a cup of coffee is welcome to attend.
Adam Stanage, Brandon Marshall, Cole Nixon, Tyler and Justin Matchett, and Darren and Carly Gendre attended the Junior Olympics for wrestling this past weekend in Calgary. They all had a great time and Carly Gendre came home with a Gold medal.
Joey Standage and Monica Gendre will be attending the provincial high school wrestling tournament this coming weekend.
Teachers’ convention is on March 4 and 5 so there will be no school for students of Erskine School those two days.
Swimming lessons for Erskine school starts on March 30. Times for each grade will be sent home in the next couple of weeks.
The next parent council will be held on March 9.
Early Monday is Mar 1.
Watch out for report cards going home this Friday, Feb 26.
Student-led conference will be on March 11
Clearview Athletic and Recreation Association (CARA) junior high basketball tournament will be held on Feb. 27 in the Stettler middle and Stettler elementary and Erskine school gyms.
Erskine men’s and ladies curling bonspiel are coming up soon, with the ladies from March 1 to 7 and the men from March 14 to 21.
