Mrs. Monica Sylvester’s class had a tea party Monday morning. After reading about Miss Spider’s tea party and learning the social rules of being good hosts, Mrs. Sylvester’s class invited their parents to join them for a tea party to celebrate grade one coming to an end. The parents were entertained by a poem recited by the students detailing their year of Grade 1 and the students also shared their writing portfolio with the parents. A special guest, Miss Spider, showed up and brought the class yummy spider web cupcakes and a beautiful spider cake for all the guests to enjoy with their tea. Miss Spider also talked about each student and his/her unique contributions to the class.

On Monday, June 14, Mrs. Kim Poapst spearheaded the annual K-1 Fun Day.

Students were engaged in a number of exciting events as there were 10 terrific games set up all over the school. The games were in the SES gym, the middle School gym, the science lab, the entry way of the school, and the music and drama rooms. The fun day games included Holler 3-BB, big ball relay, scooter, obstacle course, Indiana Jones throwing, sack races, target toss, dancing, parachute and noodles and balloons. At the end of fun day activities, the students returned to their classrooms where they celebrated the day with a popsicle. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers and to the teachers for running the stations.
