Golf league ended, volleyball upcoming

The Big Valley Ladies Golf League held their final windup on Wednesday Sept. 23 , with 20 of the 21 members able to make it.

The Big Valley Ladies Golf League held their final windup on Wednesday Sept. 23 , with 20 of the 21 members able to make it.

Golf started at 4 p.m. with first place going to Ila Lunevich, Jo-Ann Meston, Amanda Baird, Tommisina Loria, second to Amanda Lucki. Teresa Grieg, Shirley Stormoen, Alice Faye Watts.

Three teams tied for third with a chip-off going to Lynne Palmer, Gail Anderson, Donna Clark, Marion Annable,

An excellent supper was served after golf . Thanks to all the ladies that supplied the supper and excellent desserts.

Gail Anderson will be taking over as president, and Amanda Baird as secretary-treasurer next year.

Thanks to everbody that took part in doing their share to make the golf league work. We hope for as good a turn out if not better next year.

Don’t forget adult volleyball, Tuesday nights, at the Big Valley School gymnasium at 7:30 p.m., starting Sept. 22 until April. Contact Ariane 403-876-2012.

The Big Valley United Church will be holding its annual turkey supper on Oct. 18. Anyone with extra carrots and contact Barb 403-876-2711.

Big Valley Legion meeting will be held on Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. in the Legion Hall.

Youth Gym Nites for pre-teens (Grades 5-7) will be held at the school gymnasium in Big Valley every second Friday.
