STETTLER PUBLIC LIBRARY -- The Stettler Public Library wants to make a statement but we need you to help. We have borrowed a grocery cart from Sobeys and we want it filled by the end of October so that we can make a significant donation to the Stettler Food Bank in celebration of Food for Fines Month. We will swap non-perishable food donations in exchange for your fines. We will waive a dollar of fines for every non-perishable food item that you bring to the library. It's a win-win situation for everyone!

On Friday, Oct. 28 is the library's third annual Monster Bash 2016 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. It is a great night for the kids to have some spooky fun without the snowsuit. There is a cost for this program of $10 per child or $25 per family; adults get in free but the small cost will get you tonnes of crafts, games, chances at prizes and a free hot dog, juice box, and orange. Start planning those Halloween costumes because it is going to be a tonne of ghostly fun.

Read and Rhyme is back on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. This program is open to children of ages up to five who like to sing, rhyme, dance and play with their parents or guardians. Yes, we expect the adults to sing "The Wheels on the Bus." We hope to see all the little people with their big people.

Join us for Tech Time on Thursday, Oct. 20 between 1 to 3 p.m. Bring your tablet, iPad, smartphone, e-reader: actually, whatever you are having trouble with, and we will provide you with one-on-one assistance in figuring out that piece of technology.

The Stettler Public Library has a packed morning on Saturday, Oct. 22, starting at 10:30 a.m. First off is our monthly Pokémon Swap Meet from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Bring your cards and come to the library to battle, trade, and share your favorite Pokémon.

If working with yarn is more your speed, join us for Crystal's Crocheting Club at 10:30 a.m. It is for crocheters of all levels: beginners, intermediates, or "Boy, I want to be you." Join us for the best time that you can have with a crochet hook and some yarn. Call Crystal at 403-742-2292 if you would like more information about supplies.

On Thursday, Oct. 27 at 6:30 p.m., you are invited to bring a pen, some paper, and your creativity and come join the Stettler Writers' Club. It is your time to work on your writing with a friendly, supportive group.

Keep checking spl.prl.ab.ca or our Facebook page for news of any additional activities as some may require pre-registration. If you have any ideas, suggestions, or questions about activities you want to see at the library let us know. We hope to see you at the library soon.
