GADSBY/WESTWOODS NEWS -- A summer-like reprieve from the winter weather was too short-lived as temperatures recorded on Thursday of up to plus 18 and 20.

Fred and Velvet's granddaughter Rowyn celebrated her second birthday recently with family and mom and dad, Nick and Haley's.

Happy anniversary to Percy and Paulette. They were married on a beautiful fall day, Nov. 4, 44 years ago.

Get well wishes to Darlene Derr who was rushed to Red Deer Hospital, but is back in Stettler Hospital at the time of this writing. Jean Ross is also back in Stettler, Heritage Place, Smitty is also home from hospital as is Greg Jackson.

The Gadsby Omega Circle bazaar was a huge success. Moving it to Botha was a great and safer idea, with more room for kids, strollers and senior citizens. The feedback was all positive at the hall with people thanking the ladies for the wise decision.

It was a busy Saturday last weekend with an 80th birthday party for Aleta Cassidy up at Westwoods Agriculture Center with a host of family and friends in attendance.

Then the bazaar and finally the family Halloween party in Gadsby.

Sympathies to Shirley and Rodney Coleman and family on the passing of Shirley's mom, Muriel Scheerschmidt.

Also, Joyce Hansel and Betty Stotz have received word of the passing of their cousin Eva Wilson in Lethbridge. Bob and Eva were frequent visitors in the Gadsby area, took in events such as the bazaar. Eva loved to play canasta with friends here, including myself. Bob and Eva celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in the Gadsby Community Hall with family and friends. Daughter Susan was hairdresser to many in our community. Sincere sympathies to Joyce and Bill and family, to Betty and family as well as the Blackmore and Boyd families. She was loved by many.
