Gadsby dissolution study meeting rescheduled for March; voting later

Even though the white frost was quite beautiful this past weekend, the community was without power for several hours on Saturday when the ice build up on the lines was too much for them to handle.

Power crews were out for many hours clearing the ice. As one resident stated, imagine rain in January! The longest reported time out was from 11:30 in the morning until 9:30 in the evening. Other towns reporting power outages Friday and Saturday were Byemoor (16 hours), Castor, Halkirk, Botha and even Stettler. Parts of Big Valley were off for all of Friday and Saturday, resuming power on Sunday.

While we were having rain and fog, Jason Tuck reported being snowed-in in Saskatchewan.

Gordie and Shirley Reynolds enjoyed a weekend visit in Edmonton to celebrate their 52nd anniversary. Daughter Kathy and Tim treated them to an evening at the Citadel Theatre. Happy anniversary.

Bill and Joyce Hansel enjoyed last weekend with their great-granddaughter McKenna visiting them.

The Gadsby Bank Building has been booked to hold a public meeting regarding the Gadsby dissolution study.

This was to be held in February but has since been rescheduled for March. After the meeting, there will be another day in March booked for voting. These dates will be posted in the paper nearer the time.

Don’t forget the cash Bingo on Feb. 20 with coffee and treats served. Doors open 7 p.m. Early bird starts at 7:30 and the loonie pot will continue to grow.
