Fiftieth wedding anniversary packs hall

Several celebrations marked the weekend this week. Congratulations to Deral and Heat' her Lang who celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Saturday at the Red Willow Hall. The hall was packed. Daughters Paula and Sheila hosted the event. There was an entertaining program with stories and reminiscing. Teresa's catering served a mouth watering lunch.

Percy and Paulette Heer were in Castor at the Mission Church to take in Lavern and Nadine Wideman's fiftieth Anniversary, along with friends and family. The Church was full! Singing, poems and stories made up the program. Birthday cake (along with the anniversary cake) was also served. Happy birthday sung to Ruby Wideman (Lavern's mother) who turned 99!

And Kathy Tuck's mom Vi Turre was a young 90 on July 25, her celebration was also on Saturday in Castor.

In Gadsby, Velvet and Fred Entwisle were hosts at a BBQ for their family and Velvet's brother Ben and Kristy, Nash and Quinn Nickerson of Cranbrook B.C. Ben and Kristy and family have been camping at Rosedale, taking in the Tyrell museum and other sites and sounds of Drumheller.

Bill and Joyce Hansel were off to Cadogan for the weekend, taking Joyce's sister Betty Stotz and Bill's brother Joe and Maxine as well as Larry Hansel to take in the wedding celebrations for Bill and Joyce's grandson Jeffrey and Kathy Botting (Mary Lou and Stan's son. The wedding was at Capt Aira Lake, under the big tent!

Last weekend Bill and Joyce headed to Red Deer to help great granddaughter Willow Trennery celebrate her first birthday.

It is with sadness that we hear of the passing of Corrine (Jerzak) Funk. Corrine grew up in the Westwood's District, taking her schooling at Foreman and Omega schools. Corrine and Bill had four children. Kenny, Nancy (Gendre), Margie and Donnie.Sincere sympathies to the Jerzak and Funk families. Corrine was in her eighty first year.
