Kindergarten classes began at the Byemoor School last Tuesday with three youngsters enrolled. The little ones are Colter Buchwitz, Kord Buchwitz and Alanna Mappin.

Congratulations to Doug and Lori Roberts who celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on Sept. 13 and best wishes for many more.

Happy 65th birthday wishes go out to Doug Roberts on Sept. 15. Hope you enjoy being on the government payroll, Doug.

Doug and Lori celebrated these two special milestones with an Alaskan cruise. They were accompanied by friends, Gordie and Roxy Gallagher. We hope you all had a fantastic trip.

The Terry Fox Run at the Byemoor School was well supported with $875 raised for the worthy cause — tremendous job for a small school. All participants were treated to a spaghetti lunch after the run. The RCMP were present as a safety precaution.

Byemoor School grades 1-6 classes participated in the Beads of Courage program on Friday. The program helps seriously ill children through difficult times. The students wrote letters of encouragement, sent photos and beads to children at the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary to help them through serious illness.

Jack and Yvette Hayden enjoyed a trip to Nova Scotia for the wedding of their niece, Holly Bungay.

The next Sullivan Lake West Agricultural Society meeting is on Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Endmoor Arena.

Endmoor Minor Hockey Association is holding an important meeting on Sept. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the Endmoor Arena to organize for the upcoming season. Registrations are now due.

It's not too early to mark your calendars for the Byemoor fall roast beef supper on Saturday, Oct. 22. Expect a delicious, home-cooked meal — served from 4-7 p.m.

Keep in mind the bridal shower for Lacey Gutsche, future bride of Ashton Halabut, on Sunday, Sept. 25 from 1-4 p.m. at the Hanna Lion's Hall.

With better weather, farmers made some progress with their harvest operations and combines were working late into the night to bring in this year's harvest, until weekend showers brought another delay to operations.

The big, bright Harvest Moon that occurred on Friday makes night-time work a little easier. There was also a penumbral lunar eclipse that night.
