ERSKINE ENQUIRER — Twenty-eight seniors gathered at the Seniors Centre on Wednesday, Dec. 14 for their annual Christmas dinner. Thanks to all those who helped with the meal and special thanks to Edith Plante for all her hard work to provide a great dinner. Crib playing was enjoyed after the meal.

The Erskine Homecoming Committee has plans to place a “Welcome to Erskine” sign on each end of the hamlet. Designs have been approved and hopefully with all approvals in, it will be placed close to spring.

The next Seniors Dance Jam will be on Sunday, Jan. 14. There is no age restriction to attending so come on out and enjoy the afternoon. It begins at 1 p.m. and goes on until 4 p.m., with lunch in between.

On Friday, Dec. 23 at 7 p.m. there will be a Christmas Eve Service at the United Church. Come and listen to the story of the birth of Jesus and the choir. There will be lunch and fellowship after the service. All are welcome to attend.

The Tail Creek Snowbirds have placed their annual Christmas Card at the Erskine Post Office. This year all donations are going to the Food Bank in Stettler. Any amount you wish to donate gets your name on the board.

The Erskine Post Office will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 24 and will be open for business again on Wednesday, Dec. 28. It will also be closed on Monday, Jan. 2 and will reopen on the following day, Jan. 3.

I would like to wish everyone reading this a very Merry Christmas and good health and prosperity for 2017.
